Rob Update

I thought this would be a quick way to get the word out to everyone about Robert's condition. For those of you that don't know Rob became very ill on Sunday the 18th. He still insisted he was okay and went to Las Vegas on Monday morning. On Monday night he was in a lot of pain and saw and urgent care doctor in Las Vegas. She diagnosed him with prostatitis. He was unable to sleep Monday night and drove home from Las Vegas. On Tuesday he saw the physician's assist at our doctor's office. He agreed with the original diagnosis. Well Rob never seemed to improve, but stayed about the same over the weekend. On Monday he decided to see a Urologist. The Urologist did not think it was his prostate and thought that he had a possible kidney stone. At this point Rob was up to taking 16 pills a day and still no relief. Then on Wednesday night he was in tremendous pain and the fever was back.

Our very kind home teachers came and gave him a blessing. We are so blessed to have a wonderful ward family. Shortly after the blessing Rob's pain had decreased but we both felt impressed that he should go to the hospital. I took Rob to the emergency room on Wednesday night. Finally after 11 days they figured out what was really wrong. He has diverticulitis and an abscess had formed. The abscess ruptured filling his colon with infection. They admitted him to Mercy Gilbert Hospital that night. On Thursday they inserted a drain through his abdomen, this will drain the infection. They are now waiting to see how the drain does. However there is a perforation, this will require surgery for them to repair it. We are waiting now to find out when they can perform this surgery.

We just wanted to thank everyone for their prayers and support. Rob is doing okay this morning and is able to take some phone calls. We love and miss everyone, it is definitely times like this when the distance we are from everyone seems that much greater.

As soon as I have more information I will post here.

In the meantime please continue to pray for Robert.
